Frequently asked questions
- Is FloxerFile free to use?
- Yes. Converting VTT files to SRT is completely free, with no account required. You can convert files up to 10 MB.
- Why do I need SRT instead of VTT?
- Most video editors, media players, and streaming platforms expect the SRT format rather than WebVTT. If you're importing subtitles into a video editor, you'll typically need a .srt file.
- Will the subtitle timing or text change?
- No. The conversion only changes the file's formatting (timestamp separators and cue numbering) — cue timing and text are preserved exactly. Note that VTT-specific styling or positioning cues, if present, are not carried over since SRT doesn't support them.
- Are my files kept private?
- Your files are processed on our servers solely to perform the conversion. They are deleted automatically once the download is complete and are never shared or stored long-term.
