Frequently asked questions
- Is FloxerFile free to use?
- Yes. Converting SRT files to VTT is completely free, with no account required. You can convert files up to 10 MB.
- Why do I need WebVTT instead of SRT?
- HTML5 <track> elements and most web video players require the WebVTT format, not SRT. If you're adding subtitles to a website or web app, you'll typically need a .vtt file.
- Will the subtitle timing or text change?
- No. The conversion only changes the file's formatting (timestamp separators and the required WEBVTT header) — cue timing and text are preserved exactly.
- Are my files kept private?
- Your files are processed on our servers solely to perform the conversion. They are deleted automatically once the download is complete and are never shared or stored long-term.
