Protect PDF Online
Add password protection to a PDF so it requires a password to open. Encrypt your file in seconds.
FloxerFile lets you add real password protection to any PDF. Set a password and we encrypt the file so it can only be opened by someone who knows it — useful for sharing contracts, invoices, or other sensitive documents over email or cloud storage. No software, no sign-up, just upload, set a password, and download.

Frequently asked questions
- What password should I choose?
- Any password with at least 4 characters. For sensitive documents, use a longer, unique password and share it with recipients through a separate channel than the file itself.
- Can I remove the password later?
- Yes — use our Unlock PDF tool with the correct password to produce an unprotected copy again.
- Will the quality of my PDF be affected?
- No. Adding password protection only encrypts the file — it does not re-encode or modify any content.
- Can I protect a PDF that's already password-protected?
- No. Unlock it first with the correct password, then protect it again with a new one if needed.
- Are my files and passwords kept private?
- Your file and password are used only to perform the encryption. They are deleted automatically once the download is complete and are never shared or stored long-term.
