Protect PDF Online

Add password protection to a PDF so it requires a password to open. Encrypt your file in seconds.

FloxerFile lets you add real password protection to any PDF. Set a password and we encrypt the file so it can only be opened by someone who knows it — useful for sharing contracts, invoices, or other sensitive documents over email or cloud storage. No software, no sign-up, just upload, set a password, and download.

Frequently asked questions

What password should I choose?
Any password with at least 4 characters. For sensitive documents, use a longer, unique password and share it with recipients through a separate channel than the file itself.
Can I remove the password later?
Yes — use our Unlock PDF tool with the correct password to produce an unprotected copy again.
Will the quality of my PDF be affected?
No. Adding password protection only encrypts the file — it does not re-encode or modify any content.
Can I protect a PDF that's already password-protected?
No. Unlock it first with the correct password, then protect it again with a new one if needed.
Are my files and passwords kept private?
Your file and password are used only to perform the encryption. They are deleted automatically once the download is complete and are never shared or stored long-term.
