Which PDFs work best?

PDFs that were generated by software — exported from Word, web browsers, or office tools — work best. These contain a real text layer that can be extracted. Scanned PDFs (photos of documents) do not contain text and cannot be converted.

What Word format is generated?

.docx (Word 2007 and later), compatible with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer, and all modern word processors.

Are my files kept private?
