- Muting doesn't touch the video stream at all — it's copied as-is (-c:v copy) rather than re-encoded, which is what makes every other video tool here slower.
- Will muting reduce video quality?
- No — the video stream is copied exactly as it was, byte for byte. Only the audio track is removed.
- Does it just silence the audio, or remove it entirely?
- It's removed entirely — the output file has no audio stream at all, not a silent one.
