Image to Text (OCR)
Extract the text inside a photo, scan, or screenshot in one click.
FloxerFile reads the text inside your JPG, PNG, or WebP image using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and gives you a plain .txt file back. Useful for photos of documents, screenshots, signs, or scanned notes. No software, no sign-up, just upload and download.

Features
Real OCR, not just image analysis
Text is recognized with Tesseract, a genuine optical character recognition engine — not a description or guess of what the image contains.
English and French recognized together
Both languages are loaded and checked in every recognition pass, so mixed-language text is handled without picking a language upfront.
Noise-line filtering
Low-confidence text fragments from JPEG artifacts or background noise are automatically filtered out, keeping the output focused on real, clearly-recognized text.
Clear failure on unreadable images
If no text can be confidently recognized at all, you get a clear error rather than an empty or garbled file.
Supported formats
JPG
Standard JPEG images with a .jpg extension.
JPEG
Standard JPEG images with a .jpeg extension.
PNG
PNG images, including screenshots.
WebP
Modern WebP images.
Output format: .txt
Frequently asked questions
- How accurate is the text recognition?
- It depends heavily on image quality — clean, high-resolution, well-lit text recognizes very accurately. Blurry, skewed, low-resolution, or handwritten text will produce more errors or get filtered out entirely.
- Does this work with handwriting?
- Not reliably — Tesseract is trained for printed text. Handwriting recognition is a fundamentally different, much harder problem this tool isn't built for.
- What languages are supported?
- English and French are both recognized automatically in every request — there's no language picker because both are checked together.
- Why did I get an error with no extracted text?
- This means no text in the image could be recognized with reasonable confidence — try a clearer, higher-resolution image with visible, printed text.
