Frequently asked questions

What unit are the margins in?
Margins are entered in PDF points, the standard unit for PDF page geometry. There are 72 points to an inch, so a 1-inch margin is 72 points.
What happens if I leave a margin empty?
Any margin left empty defaults to 0, meaning that side of the page is left untouched.
Can the margins be too large?
Yes. If the combined margins on an axis are equal to or larger than the page's width or height, there would be nothing left to show, so the tool rejects the request and asks you to use smaller values.
Will cropping change the content of my PDF?
No. Cropping only changes the visible page boundary (the crop box). The underlying content — text, images, and links — is not modified or re-rendered.
Can I crop a password-protected PDF?
No, password-protected PDFs cannot be cropped. Remove the password protection first using your PDF reader, then crop the file.
Are my files kept private?
Your files are processed on our servers solely to perform the crop. They are deleted automatically once the download is complete and are never shared or stored long-term.
