Frequently asked questions
- How much will my image be compressed?
- It depends on the content of your image. Detailed, high-resolution photos see the largest reductions. Already-compressed or simple images may see smaller gains. You will always see the resulting file before downloading.
- Which compression level should I choose?
- Standard is the best choice for most use cases — a good balance between quality and file size. Use Low if visual quality matters most. Use High if file size is the top priority and some quality loss is acceptable.
- Will compressing reduce image quality?
- Yes, to some degree — JPG compression is lossy by nature. Higher compression levels trade more visual detail for a smaller file. Low compression keeps quality closest to the original.
- Can I compress other image formats?
- This tool only accepts JPG and JPEG files. Support for other source formats may be added in the future.
- Are my files kept private?
- Your files are processed on our servers solely to perform the compression. They are deleted automatically once the download is complete and are never shared or stored long-term.
